We have set up this website so that friends, family and anyone interested in travel can follow our overland adventures. First of all let me tell you a little bit about us.
We have been living together for the past 9 years and have always enjoyed overseas travel, whether that be a 2 week holiday or a more extended trip abroad.
Andy works in the IT industry as a qualified MCSE(NT/2000) Systems Engineer and has just left his job with Birkbeck College, London. He is a keen hill walker, and enjoys playing the guitar and loves reading and listening to a wide range of music.
I am a Youth and Community Worker, working with young people and communities. I am also a keen hill walker and love camping on my own in the Lake District. I also enjoy drinking wine, cooking for friends and reading travel journals. I have also just completed a teaching English as a foreign language course which I intend to use while travelling abroad.
We have had the idea to go off travelling abroad for a few years now and have spent the last three years living in London, progressing our careers and saving hard which has enabled us to quit our jobs.
I think the thought of continuing in our line of work for the next 20 years, and not having the opportunity to travel extensively set us thinking that there must be more to life. So we made the decision that we would like to try our luck at combining our passion for travel, and other cultures with our chosen professions and see where it gets us.
In deciding this we planned a route which will take us from Western Europe, along the Mediterranean, down through North Africa to the middle East, then head Eastwards through Turkey, Iran, Pakistan up and over the Karakoram into China and down through Tibet, Nepal to India. Once in India we plan to look for work and settle for a while.
